It’s not a CV like a CV
Most people attach a traditional structured CV to the response to a job advertisement, which summarizes the candidate’s previous work experience in brief points. As for the scope of your CV, it is ideal if you can summarize your professional history on one page. All information will be in one place, which will save the human resources time. If you do not want to stay only with the list of previous experience, you can transform your CV into a resume. It comes from an Anglo-American environment and tells more about the candidate’s abilities and overall settings than about specific work experience. Thanks to this, the summary provides the HR specialist with a more comprehensive picture of the job seeker’s personality.
In the summary, in addition to work experience, you can also highlight your work achievements, mention completed courses and obtained certifications, or emphasize your strengths. Both verbally and graphically. You can use simple graphs, brief infographics or pictograms referring to specific skills or characteristics. In summary, you simply not only sell your work history, but also your personality.
When you mention specific skills, you can make it easier for the HR specialist to make decisions. In what? If the candidate states in a structured CV that he has worked as a project manager for three years, it can mean practically anything. But when he writes that from the position of project manager he led a ten-member team that managed to increase sales by 50% year-on-year, it says much more about his abilities.
